Welcome to the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine Master Thread for Class of 2015 Graduates. This thread should be used to ask all questions, discuss the application process, and provide updates (invited for interview, acceptances, etc...). If you have applied, or plan to apply, to UCONN, list when your AADSAS was submitted and any other relevant information and we will keep statistics at the top of the page. Please don't hesitate to share anything UCONN related here, whether its something in the news, something you may have discussed with ADCOM, or maybe just something that caught your eye. Good luck!!

Why UConn? It is a top program, and is a pass/fail school, i'm interested in specializing and i've heard they send many into top programs every year. small class size is a plus for me.

Dang interview invite already? My app doesnt even have a mailing date yet. I am apply as out of state 4.0/4.0 24AA. 21PAT. I am apply cuz they seem to give good scholarship, but I am wondering if I am kinda late.

I received an interview invite through AADSAS but I haven't received any details of the interview. Those of you who have also been notified of an interview, have you scheduled it yet? Or received some information through the post office?

I emailed tricia avolt and she informed me i could call and schedule the interview, if you were invited for interview on 7/15 then the paperwork has been mailed out on 7/24 and you should see it this upcoming week. i called on friday and scheduled the interview for Sept 10, Friday. This is the first day they do interviews and they do them on Mon. and Fridays.

Thank you so much for the info billabob15, I feel a lot better knowing that my interview information wasn't lost in the mail. I just might have to join you on Sept 10, congrats on the invite.

anyone going to uconn on sept 10? maybe split a hotel cost? transport cost?
just askin the fellas, i don't think my wife would approve a lady

ahh I wanted to schedule my interview for Sept. 10th but Ms. Avolt gave me oct 8th instead (another date I preferred). Anyone else have an interview the eighh of october? The hotel near the campus is pretty expensive 😱.

I guess it's kinda too late to add Uconn in my application list right?
From what I read in this thread I guess they started out giving interviews... :'(

Hey, I wish I was interviewing those days so that we could split the costs of a room. Anyone interviewing Oct. 15 and want to share? (Like Billabob said, just for the fellas since my wife wouldn't approve) I'm getting close to reserving a room so let me know. Where are you planning on staying Rickblas?

I was looking at "Homewood Suites by Hilton" because according to google maps it is literally like 3 blocks away from Uconn.

only problem is it is like 100-130 a night ugh last time I checked. I am form nyc so I was going to take amtrak as well the night before and take a taxi or try and get the 66 connecticut public transit bus line which goes to the campus/hotel. and damn Oct 15th that wouldve been close! i scheduled oct 8th friday because I am still in school and that monday is Columbus day (day off). Where are you planning to stay Freeskier02? And does anyone else have an interview Oct 8th?

-Ibracadabra- I don't think it is too late to apply to uconn, they reviewed my application fast and gave me an interview really quick, just 24 hours after I got an application complete did my aadsas status change to "invited for interview" (This was around Aug 26th). And I got an october interview so you may have a shot at a Post-dec or december interview...actually maybe even a pre-dec if you get an app complete fast.

Thanks a lot, rickblas!

yeah, that sucks we're only a week off. I just made some calls and I think I'm going to book a room with the "Extended Stay Deluxe" because they have a special rate of $60 + tax for uconn invites. It's the second closest hotel next to homewood but is definitely the cheapest option. The hotel gave me the number to this cool taxi guy that charges a flat rate of $55, he'll take me to the hotel and also pick me up directly from the school and take me to the airport. In the end I'll spend around $135 including transportation where with Homewood it'd be around $175. Cheers

I got an application complete email today. I think they just received my DAT scores. Any idea on how long it takes for the committee to review applications before sending out invites?

Hey everyone,
I stayed at the Avon Farms Hotel? its the first one on the list of hotels uconn sends out. They charged like 69 bucks plus tax.. so like 75 or something? They had a special uconn rate, and also they have a FREE shuttle that will pick you up from the airport, take you to uconn health center in the morning, and pick you up and take you to the airport... its free except for a tip. the shuttle is open from 6 am to 10 pm. It was a pretty cheap way to go, the downside is the hotel is outside of hartford and the health center is as well, so you won't get to see the actual city.
The interview went well, and all i'm going to say about it is look at the interview feedback online and you will be prepared for it! Good luck!

which airport is near the university..is it bradley international airport (tickets are soo expensive)
