I am wondering how the application process is going for other international applicants.

I am not Canadian and things are looking very bleak.

I have only received one interview from EVMS.

I am what you would call an average candidate, with average MCAT and average GPA... I know that to be admitted as international student, you need exceptional numbers and such...

Is there anyone out there that received interviews and/or acceptances despite having 3.9 GPA and like high high MCAT scores?

I will probably not answer your question, but i just wanna share with you my situation. I took the mcat for the first time in august, I sent my app. to amcas aug. 28 and so far I have 5 secondaries to complete (those schools do not screen)........I do not think I will have any chance for interview before the release of my scores but..(I will completed all my secondaries, but only send the checks after looking at my score)...I am not a canadian neither, just the average Joe. Good luck to you and I hope everything goes well

Remember that there are some schools that "claim" they do not use citizenship status as an admission factor. Stanford claims that on their website, Yale did that over the phone with my counsellor, and I believe Thomas Jefferson also doesn't as well. There are some schools that seem to be int'l student-friendly compared to other schools, for example, Columbia and Vanderbilt, both accept about 5 int'l students a year (That's a lot compare to 1-2 at other schools).

It's an uphill battle, but not impossible.

I'm applying as a non-U.S., non-Canadian citizen with NO green card. I submitted app to 23 schools, and so far have 5 interview offers (Vanderbilt, U of Chicago Pritzker, Thomas Jefferson, Columbia, SUNY Upstate). Good Luck!
