Calling schools to see if you are complete?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Some schools specifically tell you when you submit the secondary or somewhere on their portal that you should not call or email to inquire about the status of your application. You definitely should not call any of those schools to ask if you're complete. Even if the school hasn't specifically told you that you shouldn't, I still wouldn't do it.

some adcoms will get irritated if you call them too much.

Why? What would you gain from this information
There are rare instances of a supplemental submission item going astray. In such a situation, a timely phone call can keep you from scrambling late in the cycle.

Calling schools to see if you are complete- is that a bad idea?
Each school has its own guidelines for a contact. Be sure to follow them. Some are very friendly to calls at any time. Some limit you to a day a week. Some never answer their phone. Some don't want to hear from you at all.
