Whats the consensus opinion on calling schools about 4 weeks after completion if you havent heard anything to ask status? A good idea? Can it help/hurt, etc?

Whats the consensus opinion on calling schools about 4 weeks after completion if you havent heard anything to ask status? A good idea? Can it help/hurt, etc?

As long as your polite on the phone I don't see how it can hurt. But keep in mind the admin offices this time of the year are a frenzy and swamped with apps (and phone calls), so they might come off as rude and in a hurry or they might not have the answers you are looking for. Just don't throw a fit or anything if this happens, that might be passed onto your application and that certainly wouldnt help.
