Calls, emails letters?

Just curious if anyone has heard from any program directors about your current status for matching. I've noticed on some of the other boards that PDs have been blatently stating to applicants that they were in the top 20 etc.....

I have not heard anything. The most I have gotten is a letter expressing "interest" from 3 or 4 places. Nothing has explicitly stated where I will be ranked.

Has anyone heard from Yale or Brown since their interview? Any letters/calls of interest (besides the email from Brown about their new chairman)???

I have heard that Yale doesn't contact applicants. Don't know about Brown.

Which forums mention that PDs are calling applicants?

The medicine forum is the one that reports program directors calling or sending "ranked to match" letters. And having a roommate matching IM I can confirm that it does happen. While I have received positive feedback from a number of programs, none have tried to convey that I "have a spot". I am actually kinda glad about that...it lets me make the best choice based on how I feel and not what programs are telling me.
