Can a Preceptor talk bad about you to other students

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
No, they're more used as throwing the professionalism hammer against students.

I don't know why Police Officers don't use "unProfessionalism" as a ticket-able offense. They'd make SO much money off that bull****.

I'm not surprised. Looking at my class and how they "evaluate" each other, I wouldn't bat an eye if I learned this was common. There are so many passive-aggressive, insecure, naive people in medical school that just DON'T change. I think there's a correlation between frequency of bullying in K-12 and how much of a bully you are as a doctor. But I actually prefer yelling at me over behind my back. I'm used to it. Which is why I hate when people do this passive **** to me - why couldn't you say this to my face? Are you a coward? More like you're insecure in who you are that you don't want to be caught red handed throwing stones from your glass house.

edit - as an aside; I only hate it because I've had residents/interns bitch/bad mouth patients so much/so often in cases that were just unjustified. When we have a patient who's had to come back to the hospital 3 times to the same department in 4 weeks for the same symptoms, I think he has every ******* right to complain about being in distress/pain.
Doctors are one of the worst when it comes to having the cojones to say things to one's face. Most likely they were the ones picked on in school and now with a sense of power have the ability to pick on others.

Yeah, my bad. That's what I meant, actually.

You can blame UCSF for first starting medical education research in that area.

I've always been that way. I don't pick, though. Just drop truth bombs.

I'm sure @NickNaylor would disagree. You're seem to enjoy starting beef for some reason, though I haven't put my finger on why, although I can guess.

He can disagree all that he wants. I won't ever be able to see it. I'm rather sick of his know-it-all attitude and condescension. That's why I blocked him in the first place. That's why he will now remain blocked.

Just because I don't like one person on a message board full of type A individuals doesn't mean my statement is nullified.

Some would argue that you're by far the most abrasive poster on these boards. While we've disagreed on many issues, I've never had a personal problem with you. Out of everyone, you'd be the easiest to "start beef with." While it's true that I blocked you, but that was on my own accord, because I knew I'd continue that circular argument with you about the UTH radiology site.

Your insecurities are clearly showing.

My truth bombs, too.

🤣

Ladies and gentlemen of the court, I give you exhibit B.
Yes, and accusing someone else of "know-it-all attitude and condescension" is quite laughable on your part.

Exhibit B, ladies and gentlemen. I'll remember that Dr. Oldham.

Exhibit B of? It's not that I don't like you. You just meltdown so easy. I'll stop now, though, since you uncovered my true identity!
