i am not sure this info is accurate. when i got in off the waitlist, i had all ready been complete and processed...l i called amcas and they had me fax them a letter stating i was taken off the waitlist and i wanted a full refund and i included my acceptance letter. they called me monday to tell me that my refund, full, has been processed and i had to contact all schools myself to withdraw (the only catch that happens if your file is processed before you get in). it was no problem and they didnt blink when i asked for the refund... call and ask, it may be worth the wait. pm me if you want a private number of someone, that way you dont have to be on hold for an hour. good luck

Hi,

I withdrew my application two days ago by sending them a fax with my personal information and my reason for withdrawing. They sent me an email today informing me that my application has been withdrawing and that I would be getting a full refund. The person I spoke to over the phone the day before said I would get a full refund minus $75. I won't complain if they forget to subtract the $75. 🙂

Before I sent the fax, what they told me over the phone was that as long as my application had not started the verification process, I was entitled to a refund. When I sent the fax, my application status was still listed as "Active."

FYI the fax number I used was 202-828-1120 .

Hope this helps,

PS The reason I withdrew was because I got in off the waitlist at a school I applied to during the last cycle.
