Medical Can adcoms see application from previous cycle?

I had a deep and tender issue that caused poor performance early in my college career. I didn't want to discuss last cycle so a crappy excuse. This cycle I am going to actually explain what really happened. Can med schools see the old secondary, and if so, should I explain why I didn't explain it last year?
