my SO makes an F in a 1 credit hour honors thesis seminar?

This is a single credit seminar course for honors seniors. She has essentially neglected this course for the entire semester, as she's been applying to and getting accepted to PT school, working, going to class, etc. This course is also very poorly facilitated.

If -- at the end of the semester -- she receives a failing grade, will that affect her acceptance for the entering class of 2016?

Her GPA would go down only 0.01 points and will still be well above the cutoff for the school.

Thanks!

As long as she graduates and has the GPA above what they want, she's fine.

I think she'd be fine. It's not a prerequisite course for entrance into PT school. Her school would likely be concerned and may ask some questions, however probably not a huge deal if the rest of her transcript is squared away

Thanks! If asked, what would you recommend she say?

Again, she's already been accepted.

I would recommend her first stop be to talk to the professor in the class. Can she take an incomplete and finish some work over the winter break? Even if she turned in 1/2 of the required stuff she might be able to pull a C with minimal effort. I would find out what it takes (especially since it's a 1 credit course.) It's worth eating some humble pie and asking the questions now before grades are posted.

She probably shouldn't wait to be asked. Being honest and proactive is preferred. She could just contact the school directly and tell them.

The one concern would be if failing the course would affect her graduating and earning her Bachelor's degree, if a Bachelor's degree is required for the program.

She just found out she's going to pass. Thanks for the help, regardless!

Is it too late for a withdrawal or to ask for a course extension? I'm sure it won't affect things, but just to be on the safe side.

She's going to pass, probably with an A. It's a weird class. Even if she did fail it, that's 1 credit hour worth of F out of over 100 credits of mostly As and a few Bs.

I'm glad it's not a problem, though.
