I’m a vet student at an AVMA accredited school in the UK, I have a Canadian passport and was wondering if it’s legal to do some of my EMS in the US? Will there be any issues with visas?

I don’t know the paperwork details, but we have international students come through zoos for externships fairly often.

As a Canadian vet student, we had the option of arranging externships in the US. Since it is not paid work and is short term, we did not need a Visa. However, due to how litigious the US is our student-covered liability insurance did not work in the US and any students going down for rotations needed to purchase their own liability coverage. Depending on the clinic and state a number of hospitals severely limited the procedural things students could do (not all, my current hospital lets all students be hands on).
