Can Foreign Language Classes Count as Humanities/Social Sciences Requirement?

Sorry if this has been asked before. But do medical schools generally consider it so?

I believe so. Check the admissions website of a few schools you're interested in. USC's requirement, for instance, is something like 30 hours of humanities and they end up saying that most anything that isn't BCPM is humanities. The classes that most people would have trouble with is a math or english requirement especially when a school doesn't take AP credit.

At the University of Washington medical school, language classes are not considered sufficient to fulfill the humanities req. The classes must be linguistics or literature; speaking classes (e.g. Spanish 101, Spanish 201) don't count.

Obvious answer - depends on the school. Look at the schools you are interested to get an idea.
