hi guys, so i might be doing a masters program that includes a DAT prep course but the prep ends in december so we would be retaking the test in january? can I apply this cycle still? my old scores are ok but they are from 2008 so i need to retake

I would highly discourage it if those DAT scores aren't still able to be used. Your application won't be complete until after January which is very late, and past a lot of schools due dates. I'm not sure if they will make an exception if you turn in the main portion before hand, but your best bet is to call some schools and see what they say.

Depends on what your GPA and DAT score is now, you might have a chance. If they are low then Jan is too late. If you have a strong GPA and OK DAT, you might even get in before retaking your DAT🙂

I think you should try to study on your own and take it before July. Waiting til January to take it is way too late. Waste of money to apply.

Your DAT scores will expire for this cycle at most schools, and taking it next January is way too late. Many schools will already have had their deadlines passed, plus your application won't even be complete until February. If I were you, I would not apply this cycle or apply only to schools that will still use your old DAT scores if they accept it. What are your scores btw?
