Hi all,
I'm a non-canadian international at a USMD school. I have a question regarding residency programs (let's say IM) that accept OPT visas and are willing to sponsor H-1B visas.
Would it be possible for a residency program to sponsor an H-1B visa if I only have 10 months of OPT, or do they typically require the full 12 months of OPT? If it is possible, would it be risky to not have the extra 2 months due to H-visa processing time? I ask because I have the opportunity to attend a 2-month paid summer research fellowship at a different institution, but this would only be possible if I use 2 months of pre-completion OPT.
Please let me know if there is anything I can clarifying. Thank you!
