HI,

part 1 score 82, have a masters degree in public health, have 2 years of non dental work experience here in USA. can any one kindly tell me if I can get in NYU for the year 2005 with my scores?
thanks,

if u have gpa of above 3,i think there are 75% chances of getting in to nyu, apply as early as you can.a friend of mine has 87 part-1 score but she couldnt get in to nyu last year because of low gpa(below 3).hope this will help you.

I have a GPA of 3.2 according to WES. Also what about other univs? Also how did all of the international students do on the 7/12 test? any info on that?
thanks

Seems like so far everyone is doing quite well on the paper based as all i can hear is 90 this and 90 that..and it's sooo upsetting! i'm in the same boat as u i have an 84...and a 3.65...i'm applying to NYU and about 9 other places just for the hell of it...i hope being a US born citizen helps me out some..i also have a 300 toefl... good luck

hey denzel
u have a fair chance in nyu , but apply real early , ur mph and work experience might be good for ur resume. apply to upenn also they sometimes dont care abt part1 marks if the other things r excellent.
in the mean time, u can start studying for part1 again and take ur exam again as soon as possible tht way whn the results come u still have time this yr to send to the schools. its getting very competitive. i retook my part1 coz i had only 87. dont take any chances
all the best

hey khurram,
i know exactly how u feel , i was in the same situation last year. paperbased is not easier than cbt . the only advantage is u have the same paper as every1 else. in cbt if u get a tough paper u r at a disadvantage .
many people havent got their scores yet. u will get the real picture only after tht.
it took me a while to even realize tht i have to take my part1 again, tht decision is difficult, atleast for me it was. but i would adviice u to retake it. its not only for the admissions now but also later on for specialization if u r interested.
u have good chance in nyu but again its 3 yrs , if u get a higher score u can surely get i nto bu and other schools with a 2 yr program
dont be depressed. all the best. everything will work out fine.
btw, toefl scores dont matter too much (i had a 293 . they will just comment on ur scores and thts abt it) ur being a citizen adds on a lot to ur resume though.

hi guys...

Looks like many r in the same boat as im nw!!! even i got my cbt scores i got 86%.....i dunno if i stand a chance to get into any 2yr programme...any suggestions would b appreciated...

HI
Can someone tell me how the raw score is transformed to the standard score. For example, you have the standard score of Anatomy of 93, does that mean you might get 93 questions right out of the 100 questions in the test? Thanks advance.

Hi wei,
It's not like that! There'll be a score conversion chart which they usually keep modifying it once in 3 months or so!There's actually a score conversion chart for 1998 exam which u can find in the links of interests.Might be seeing that you can get some idea!If u can't find it....then I will e-mail that to you.
