Hi there! This is my first time posting on this forum, hopefully you guys don't mind me asking a few questions. 🙂 Anyway, here is some info about me and see what you guys think. When I graduated from high school, I went straight to college thinking I will major in electrical engineer. Took some classes including Cal 1 and Physics 1 and 2. I didn't care about GPA much back then and made a C in Cal. Then decided that EE was not for me and I switched to nursing hoping to advance in my education later and become a CRNA, but it's not working out so well either because I know I do not want to do this for the rest of my life. During high school, I used to work for Eckerd in the pharmacy dept. and really enjoyed it. So now, I decided to pursue pharmacy, but my cum. GPA is only 3.4 without any degree. I am planning on taking the pre-reqs for pharmacy in the fall and spring and will be done by then. I still have organic 1 and 2, bio 1 and 2, and micro (I am hoping to make A's in these to bring up my gpa. Do you think my GPA is too low and should retake some classes that I have made Cs in? Sorry for making this long, but I really need help. Thank you.

3.4 is not a bad GPA...
If you maintain that GPA, you have a good chance of getting interview...
Also, your recommendation letter, essay, and interview is crucial for your acceptance.
If possible, finish your degree and gain more pharmacy experience.
One more thing, don't think that those o chem and bio pre-reqs are easy....
THEY ARE NOT.....
Good luck~~~

I wouldn't worry about a 3.4. Just keep it up and study for the PCAT, have great rec letters and rock during the interview.

3.4 is the average GPA of a matriculant. 👍

Yeah 3.4 isn't bad at all - Like jjunyi83 said though - O.Chem is tough! Bio varies from person to person, I happen to love it. If you can't raise your performance academically (something schools look highly upon) try to at least maintain your gpa. Just make sure to apply to a broad spectrum of colleges (some selective and some less selective) and excel in other areas (essays, interview, LOR's, pcats). Oh, and keep up with the pharm experience! 👍 good lucks!

I was in engineering too (materials) 🙂 but I did get my degree. I got in this year with a 3.19 (pharmcas) and I had some C's littered about. The only one in my prereq's though was in Chem 103 5 years ago...A 3.4 should be fine if you have other good stuff to back it up. Good Luck and keep those grades up! 😀

3.4 = ok 👍

'cept if your an out-of-state applicant to kentucky
