I have a 3.51 overall GPA (3.56 science). My MCAT is PS:9 VR:10 BS:14 for a 33S. I have research and I volunteered at a free health clinic. Do I have any chance of getting in? I'd love to go to Wisconsin or Med school of Wisconsin.

i think that youll be competitive at both, especially MCW. Ive applied OOS at both with a 3.56 BCPM and 31P. i wouldnt worry about your MCAT balance either, as your outlier (14) is in bio sci, so its not like its verbal or writing.

Looks like you want to stay in the midwest. I think your list is good, but I would definitely add Rush. If you've got application $ to spare, I would also add Mayo, Northwestern and Pritzker for reaches.

Oh, and I'm not sure about how many OOS Iowa and Indiana take, but I'm guessing you looked into that. You could also consider some OH schools if you want to add more.

Get rid of the OOS publics: MN, IN, UIC and IA.

You could consider Feinberg, Pritzker, Mayo, Case and Cleveland Clinic for more competitive schools within the same region of the country.

As usual, excellent suggestions and sound advice. I do think the OP would have a decent shot at UIC though, and thus could consider keeping it because the list is pretty tailored already. However, I might agree with removing UIC because it's insanely expensive OOS. Even the posted OOS tuition isn't accurate because there's also a $10,000 tuition fee for each of the two summers between second and third year.
