So if I get accepted to a medical school, how lazy can I get before the school notices? Do they ask for transcripts of your last semester in college?
I'm currently taking classes right now that'll boost my sGPA in case I didn't get accepted this year... but I got the call a few days ago. Now I'm thinking about dropping some of them and just cruising by to get my biology degree with minimum effort. Unfortunately this will result in several "Withdraws" on my transcript. Is that ok?
For that matter, how low can my grade dip before med schools care? I have no motivation to study hard for any tests this semester.
Ds get degrees.
Actually, depending on your institution you may need a C or higher to pass.

Don't withdraw from the classes, but you could slack off a little if you want. Keep in mind that schools do reserve the right to withdraw an acceptance.
In my experience, slacking off is a lot harder than you would think. I did and was extremely disappointed when I got a C on a test. The next time I studied hard to get that A again. Ended up with a B+ in the class overall. It sucked.
Even now, I am no longer in school and am just working. Having only a 40 hour a week is strange because it requires nothing further than that. I find myself getting extremely bored and am working out six days a week. I guess the premed life trained me to be perfectly happy being busy all the time.
This. Many schools require you to finish what you listed on AMCAS as "planned coursework." But if they don't mind like the above post and you're okay with any other consequences, go ahead. I'd probably do it if I (A) didn't need the course, (B) went from 15/16 credit hours to 12, which would mean no tuition wasted, and (C) loathed the course.Just call the school & talk to the dean.
I took a W in calc 2, because I didn't need it after acceptance. I called, asked, got the green light, and here I am today not wasting endless hours integrating.

This is why I'm concerned with listing some upper lvl classes on my planned coursework.
Does anyone know if one applies to a school and is deficient in a pre-req for that school (BioChem)--if one doesn't list it in the planned coursework--the letter of acceptance would just mention that the course is deficient and needs to be completed before acceptance right?
Or would they just not consider your app since you don't have the course listed as planned?
