i plan to watch videos maybe at least once on free time till next year is that a good idea?

Personally I think it would be a waste of time, because you likely will not remember anything from it, and you won't really understand much either without a foundation

I used it for several classes, not just path. All depends on how your school is set up though, we had a largely integrated curriculum.
