I joined a dance club for two year to learn how to dance and really enjoy it. can I list ball room and salsa dancing in extracurricular activity section of the application? Or does that section only reserve for volunteer experiences? Thanks!

You can put whatever you like on the EC section. Ballroom dancing sounds like you might get some interview questions on topic just to make sure it's legit. Typically, schools want to be convinced you don't live in the library and do have some social skills-ballroom dancing sounds like a nice addition.

WOW. May God help you in dental school if you get in.

HA, no. You should put that down if you do it. They would probably welcome that you have interest outside of dentistry. I only laugh because at one school I interviewed at there was another candidate that put she enjoyed dancing on her secondary. Her interviewer saw that while looking through her file and asked her if she would "spin around or do a move for him." She told us when the group reunited. I thought that was REALLY funny!

Funny! Make sure when you put stuff down like this that you actually can do it. So when asked at an interview you can perform. I would love to call half of the interviewees bluff on if they could actually play the guitar or not...😀

Guilty. Actually, I put down piano (because I can actually play it) and guitar (because I was taking lessons). It is good dexterity exercise but I still suck at guitar 😉 Oh, I can play Smoke on the Water, Last Kiss AND Puff the Magic Dragon though.

hahaah on that note at vcu one of my interviewers noticed that i put that i like to juggle on my app...and he asked me to do it right there in his office...hahah i said sure so he was looking around his office and couldn't find anything for me to juggle..then i saw some models (of teeth) sitting on his shelf behind him and suggested those but then he said naaaah it's ok i'll take your word for it haha

Kooch, that's awesome! HAHAHA You are going to have to show me how to juggle! I never saw the purpose unless you wanted to be a clown, but it still looks pretty cool. How many balls? 3?

HAHAH people calm down calm down...yea 3 balls with a few tricks i learned from watching clowns at my dad's company parties...uhhh so yea i really did want to be a clown when i grew up..they make $100/party and i thought that was good money...i have a full costume..including wig, nose, big red shoes...i should wear it the first day of class 👍
