I was wondering if it's alright for me to make an account on AADSAS even though I am applying next cycle. I was curious as to how the application looks and wanted to get familiar with the format of the website. Can this affect me negatively or impact my application next cycle in any way ?

Yes, you should be. I am a TMDSAS user, but I started applicationion for the 2017 cycle, but never submitted it. Everything transferred to the 2018 year.
