Hey Everyone,

I want to get certified so I can work as a pharmacy technician because I need some experience iworking in a pharmacy. I know places like the Cittone Institute offer courses for this ...but I much rather buy the book any study on my own for this.

Do I have to register somewhere and take courses for this????

Also, where do I sign up to take the certification test???

Hope to hear from you guys

I was going to ask this same question!

What are you guys using to study for it?

The book that I plan on using is supposed to be real good.

Its called "Certification Review For Pharmacy Technicians" - by Noah Reifman

Did you try getting a job at one of the local chain or Mom and Pop pharmacies? Many will take uncertifieds, you just have to ask.

You can buy books to study for this exam or take courses, but if you are able to work in a pharmacy, this is the best preparation that you can receive. You may still want to study from books, but on the job experience will allow you to not study as much material.

If you really cant get a job in your area, I would suggest going through books first. Make sure you have your math down (ratios, amoxicillin problems, etc) because there are just too many of these questions. Also, you may want to know drug names, but focus on generics.
