Can I submit a residency application before my CS result is out?

Hello everyone,
I am an IMG getting ready to write the Step 1 and Step 2CS exams (I completed Step 2CK already). I plan to write Step 1 the first week of July. However, the earliest I will be able to write Step 2CS will be the first week in August. I was hoping to match into a program for 2010. Would I be able to send out residency applications before I get my Step 2 CS result back? Would this place me at a disadvantage of matching for 2010?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I'm in the same boat as you. The answer is: yes, you can apply with your score pending.

However, the earlier you can get ECFMG certified, the better. In other words, you can apply, but your chances might be decreased a bit.
