I am currently working on retaking afew science classes that I got Cs in to boost my GPA. I am working full time Fall 2010 and taking 2 classes. I plan on being a full time student and taking a full class load Spring 2011. I know I wont be able to take on a full class load and study for the mcat at the same time. Spring semester is over in May and I would need some study time for the mcat before I could take it but I really want to apply in 2011. Would there be anyway to make this work without applying too late? My cGPA when applying should be ~3.4 and sGPA ~3.6

I already have lots of ECs will be shadowing Fall 2010 and have LORs covered.

You can submit both AACOMAS and/or AMCAS without an MCAT score. You just need to specify the date that you are planning on taking it.

Yes, you can. If you are planning on applying this cycle then you should go ahead and submit your AACOM app soon, like now. because it will take sometimes to get verified (at least 2 weeks, I think)

I would not apply till 2011 and would start in 2012 if accepted. When people say apply broadly and early do they mean the aacom primary application? Also would taking my MCAT in say mid-late July of 2011 be too late?

Why not fight the MCAT beast in May so the scores are ready to go once the application cycle opens on June 1st? This will give you the best chance, assuming that you will be ready by May for the exam. If you must wait, it will put you a bit behind the game, but certainly not throw you out of it. That said, work on the personal statement and be sure to have your transcripts sent to AACOMAS around May next year so that the MCAT is the only missing piece to the puzzle. Have your application wrapped up by June 1st (or May 1st if you can pull it off) and destroy that exam bro!

Best of luck. Start studying now for the MCAT. Everyday counts. I'd check out the MCAT section here on SDN, make yourself a schedule to follow, and start having a go at it.

BTW with that G.P.A. don't count yourself out of M.D. With a solid 30+ MCAT score it is within reach. Now go STUDY!
