Right now, I have the Kaplan MCAT Comprehensive Review 2004 Edition, 101 passages in MCAT verbal reasoning, and ExamKracker's Audio Osmosis for MCAT. Since I have decided to take the DAT instead of MCAT, should I sell all these materials and get new DAT prep books? What are your suggestions? Thank you.

i was in the same boat...i threw them on ebay, and got the DAT ones instead...costed me about 50 dollars extra for new books and everything (used books, but nonetheless new to me!). Was it worth it? I don't know. They don't have physics in them. Thats enough for me. Could I have just skipped the phsyics section and studied everything else from that book? well, i've paid about 2000 dollars till now, between the app, and the secondary fees, I don't think 50 bucks or even 100 bucks is going to make a difference as long as I'm studying the book and I know its the right book...🙂

i wish you the best of luck...

The MCAT reading passages and the DAT reading passages are different in terms of style and difficulty. There is much more fact-based questions on the DAT, which you can find word for word in the passage, rather than "What did the author mean by. . .", as you would find on the MCAT.

I wouldn't use MCAT to study DAT's verbal. It's harder and different, in my opinion.

well i've got kaplan's mcat review materials as well and to tell u the truth the content is almost identical to the blue book (except the mcat books go into a little more detail on some sections)..the best part i think is that the mcat books have questions at the end of each chapter..also i have the mcat flash cards which have been helpful as well..so i'd say keep the kaplan stuff but not the other stuff..also u should probably get the kaplan blue book

As for the review notes... Kaplan DAT and MCAT books are pretty similiar... I have both... minus the obvious though eg physics section etc... so reading out of either review notes for basic sciences are equal... but always remember that the two test are approached differently... MCAT ask quesiton via passages and DAT just ask straight up questions... theres always other sources too...
