I have 3 regular LOR and won't receive my 4th, DO letter of rec until about late august. Should I submit my secondary as best I can (depending on the schools) with just 3 and just update them when I receive my do letter?

Yes. Submit secondaries asap. The worst that can happen is you'll be incomplete until you get the DO letter in.

Whats the difference between submitting the secondary and remaining incomplete and him waiting until he gets the DO letter to submit? The schools wont look at him until he is complete anyhow right?

I'm also very interested in the answer to your question.

This. Plus certain schools like LECOM don't require letters upfront.

Yes, the schools won't consider OP for interview until they have secondary, and all the required LORs. Submission of all these things will make him "complete" at the school. If any of these items-secondary, LORs- are not submitted, then the school will consider your file to be"incomplete". The advantage of sending secondary in even when you don't have your LORs submitted is that school will process your secondary and when your LOR gets submitted, the processing wont take as long because they already have your secondary processed. This will cut down on the time it takes for the school to change your status from "incomplete" to "complete". Hope this makes sense.

I've heard on this forum that only the DO LOR can be an exception, in the sense that they won't require it (most schools) until after your interview, but your acceptance can rest on the last letter.

Truth to that?
