Can I wait until after August MCAT to do secondaries that have no deadline?

Hello,

I'm taking the August MCAT, but submitted my AMCAS July 1 and have already gotten quite a lot of secondaries. I don't have time to do the ones that don't have deadlines now. I'd rather wait until after the August MCAT. If I've already been holding onto some secondaries for over a month by that point, is that too long to hold onto them--will I be penalized?

Help!

Thanks,

T

i'd say just focus on studying. you don't want to sit around writing essays when it is crunch time for the mcat.

also, i don't think most schools "penalize" you for holding onto your secondaries too long. there are a few that are very insistent that you have it on a certain date, like hopkins which i think sends you a dated envelope, but this is not the case for the majority.

i think you will be ok if you start & finish up your secondaries within a few weeks after the mcat.

(anyone, correct me if i am wrong.)
