I'm not understanding the interview process. Some people say that there are 2+ interview drafts (for lack of a better term.) So if you apply to say NYU and don't get an interview invite prior to october, after the first round has interviewed, the 2nd round candidates will get invites (circa december or january.) I would be content enough with this, but after getting a Temple rejection letter in the mail... I began disputing the legitimacy of this proposal in my head. Maybe say NYU only has one round of interview invites and they just book them well through March in the first place... no second round... they just choose from the first. Does anyone have any idea or does it just depend on the school? Would I still be in the running for an interview to say Louisville or NYU or Tufts or Boston etc if I haven't heard yet? Just wondering what your thoughts were. My top choice is VCU, but I'm a little nervous about one interview with so much riding on it and it being my first. I want to feel completely confident. What are your ideas? Thanks
Mixed emotions 🙂 🙁 😳 😕

Hey, I'm in the same boat as you. One interview. Some people don't even have interviews yet, so I feel blessed to have one. But, it's my first interview and my top school. And in my silly head I feel underqualified b/c I only have one interview....🙁 I need to change my way of thinking... I hope you are right about the second round interviews. I called Louisville this summer and asked what a competetive applicant would be for this cycle, and told her my stats and she said I should get an interview. I haven't heard anything yet....Maybe it's just too early. 👍 Best of luck to you.

First of all, congrats on the VCU interview. I am jealous.

Here is what I know. Marquette for example goes for its whole class all at once. There aren't any rounds or drafts. On the other hand, some schools, and I don't know exactly which ones, go for half of the class by dec 1 and the other half therafter.
(while I am not sure who does this, I was assured by two separate deans that some schools do this. I was under the impression that it was the schools that could afford to do that. It would be the schools the were the most competitive.)
Marquette said they would never do this because they are trying to steal the great applicants form other schools. The way to do that is offer them a position before anyone else.

If I knew who did what exactly then I would be less stressed as well.

I'd say take a look at predents and see when people interviewed for your school last year. I'd bet if they were still interviewing people after Dec 1st, they will probably do it again this year.

AZ VCU UNLV go half on dec 1 and half later on.

Good Luck Boys, DSmack PM me about Boston!😍 😍
