I have a couple of questions that I'm hoping someone here can answer.

1. One of my top 5 dental schools is Boston U. However, in the ADEA book, Boston U doesn't want students to take any of the dental school pre-reqs in community college. I was in community college for two years before tansferring to USC. Should I retake my Bio and Chem class?

2. I got a C in my second semester Bio class [while in community college]. And my science GPA isn't looking too good right now. It's a solid 3.0 Would it be a good idea to retake that Bio class? It's the only C I have on my transcript.

1. Yep probably wont accept your cc classes for their pre-reqs

2. Retake

Alright. Thanks for answering my question!

So if I retake the class it won't look bad? Because I heard that sometimes it does.

Here's the thing: Many school are willing to bend their rules against work done at community college, provided that you have a high GPA and very competitive DAT scores. Why?
The reason why most schools don't like students completing their work at CC is that they are under the impression that community college classes aren't as challenging as those offered at a 4 year university and therefore, students may be tempted to take many classes at CC in order to get bunch of easy A's and establish a "fake" high GPA. When you have a high GPA and exceptional DAT scores, you're basically showing them that you earned your A's and they are all genuine.
Unfortunately, this situation doesn't apply to you, because your GPA is on the lower side. So, it would be best not to apply to Boston U.

Retaking that class will benefit you in two ways:
1)The admission officers will realize that you're willing to work hard and put in the extra effort in order to improve your situation rather than leaving everything up to chance.
2)It will boost your GPA, and of course we all know that's gonna strengthen your application to some degree.

Good Luck👍

The C in bio may be the least of your problems. Your "solid 3.0" at a CC, now that's a different matter.

I want to thank everyone who responded to my thread. Your responses are helping me a lot. Thankfully for me, I'm not even done with half of my classes so I have time to improve my GPA.
