Can someone clarify for me this 1/3 thing in SN2ed study method?

I'm looking through the SN2ed study guide here:

http://forums.studentdoctor.net/threads/breaking-down-the-mcat-a-3-month-mcat-study-schedule.623898/

and was wondering about the reasoning behind only doing 1/3 (every third) of the practice passage of all the corresponding practice passages for each chapter. For example, for Day #1, the instructions are:

BR Physics Chapter #1 + Every third practice passage of all the corresponding practice passages for this chapter.

I looked briefly through the rest of the schedule and it doesn't seem like you ever come back to do the rest of the practice passages for the chapter?

I'm even more confused because for the first day, the example is:

First 1/3: Review Passage #1; Practice Exam Passage: #1, 4, 7
Second 1/3: Review Passage #2; Practice Exam Passage: #2, 5
Final 1/3: Review Passage #3; Practice Exam Passage: #3, 6

What does it mean by First 1/3, Second 1/3, and Final 1/3?

Can someone that has gone through the SN2ed method clarify this for me? How should I handle this 1/3 thing on the schedule?

Thanks!

The passages in the books are divided between a shorter section called Review Passages and a longer one called Practice Passages.
First 1/3: Review Passage #1; Practice Exam Passage: #1, 4, 7
This means for the day of the schedule where you do the first third of the available passages for a chapter, you will do the first passage from the Review Passages section and the first, fourth, and seventh passages from the Practice Passages section.

Whenever the schedule lists First 1/3, Second 1/3, or Final 1/3, it's denoting the day you do the different thirds of the passages, so you end up finishing all of them.

Thanks for your reply.

I'm still unclear as to when I would return to do the second and third 1/3 of the chapter. For example, the first day is BR Physics Chapter 1. Where in the schedule will I return to do the rest of the Practice Passages from this chapter? Can you point to the specific day listed in the schedule where I'm supposed to return to finish up BR Physics Chapter 1 practice passages?

Usually after re-read days. Take a look at Day 16 on Sn2ed's calendar
Last 1/3 of BR passages are from Day 62 and onwards

What is the difference between the pairs of days with the same instruction? ( Days 62/63, 65/66, etc.)? Are we supposed to break up the remaining 1/3 material over the course of two days?

Yes exactly. You are going to split the last 1/3 for a specific chapter for ALL subjects (biology, chem, etc) over two days.

Thanks, this is a lot clearer for me now!

Would you guys recommend the 3-month or 4-month schedule? I definitely have time to do the 4-month schedule, as my exam is not until May 31, but is one schedule more effective? I've heard you shouldn't give yourself too much time, otherwise you procrastinate and forget material, but I don't imagine 4-months being too long. Does the 4-month schedule actually cover more material, or does it just spread it out over a longer period of time?
