I got my MSAR today and was looking through and saw that schools had % applicants that did research, community service and then medically-related work. What does medically-related work encompass? Is it like shadowing or hospital internships? Maybe working at a hospice? Or just real work such as phlebotomists/CNA/EMT? Because most schools have a really high % for that and I was wondering how so many people would've had the time to be certified or gotten a degree since most medically-related work requires certain qualifications.

I would think medically related work would be actual medical employment, not volunteer work.

CNA, EMT, etc as you mentioned.

Email them sons of b!tches and ask them.
