Wait,

So, you didn't have a B going into the final? Is this before or after the grading change?

You're screaming troll, now. 🙁

its to complicated to explain the grading, but i was about 25 points shy of a B , 25 points on the final was easy to get.

(i dont have time right now to reply to all the posts above me)

But i would like to say this,
I'll remember for the future not to loose my cool, no matter what. I sincerely mean it when i say thanks for the tip on keeping my cool.

I dont belive their is any point to criticizing how well i did in the class because, its done, nothing i can do about it. I have learned that I need secure scores that wont leave me in the "iffy" position.

In one experience, I asked the professor. He wouldn't say anything, so I went to the dept head. Within a day or two I was accused of plagiarism by the professor. What was his excuse? He said that instead of using the exact address like address.com/folder/this.html, I only used the address.com/folder/ where it was an index. The school was backing him up hardcore even when the syllabus said nothing about being precise and he had told me in class that it was okay to source the way I did. Luckily I graduated before anything happened and all record of the incident was destroyed.

I'm a Presiding Officer of our university's Student Honor Council, and, legally, such cases are supposed to go before a separate board comprised of people without a conflict of interest. Within the same department would not count. Our boards are comprised of both students and faculty.

As for the original post, depending on university size, there should be a committee for arbitrary grading where you can lodge an official complaint. If multiple people lodge a complaint, it definitely helps your case. University's are required by law to have an official process for both academic integrity infringements and for arbitrary grading, and you can sue if they do not follow their own policies and procedures.

There are entire books of case law written about universities and these types of things. In summary: search your school's website for that committee, it is usually under the Dean for Student Affairs. If you can't find it, call the Dean's office. If there is none, talk to the Dean him/herself. DO NOT bother with the department head, you are unlikely to get anything accomplished. DO go through official channels outside the department. If you do that, you are beyond reproach, and the professor can't accuse you of plagiarism either.
