If a person went through Qbank twice and knew every question well, is it possible to get above a 230 on the Step 1?

There's only one suppossed instance that I've seen on Student Doctor, with a person getting a 239, but are there any other experiences like this?

You could try it and report back to us?? I would be interested in seeing the results. I would think one would have to have a solid background in the firstplace to just rely on Qbank. Seems to me you have to know a little something before just getting 2-3 sentences on it in qbank. Could just be me though.

Id be willing to theorize that if you could go through random assigments of 50 question blocks and consistently break 70% youd have a decent chance at passing step I.

With a great foundation during the first two years, I suppose it would be possible. If QBank is being used as a review tool and not as a learning tool...

Considering the mediocre teaching in my 2nd year (especially by The Pathologists), QBank was my primary learning tool. The explanations for the questions are very good.

So, do you really mean you think it is possible to pass if you are consistently getting a 55% on random blocks. I dont disagree, I was just confused as to if that was what you really meant.

no that consitently breaking 70% on random blocks is more equivalent to a >240 score than passing.

What does everyone think is the minimum cumulative score to pass? To score the average? To post up a bigfrank number?

Supposedly if you're scoring in the neighborhood of ~60% on random blocks on Q bank, that's indicative of passing. (I've heard 55-60% and 60-65% depending on the source, so let's just average it and say 60). This is just hearsay though.

took my test last year, 70-80% on q-bank...ended with 75% total on q-bank - score 246. some of my friend got similar, I would say it is 240 +/- an error of 8.

only q-bank is not enough...at least, I don't think so.
