Allright, I got rejected from a top program. I still haven't heard from even half of the programs. BUT do any of you know about an appeal process? Or if this is even an option, due to the competitive nature of (some of these) programs? :luck:

Appealing for not getting into a postbac program? I've never heard of anyone doing so, but I suppose you could ask to speak to the program director and plead your case. It's probably a low percentage play though -- probably not worth the bother. Since the top programs need to be able to demonstrate a 90+% acceptance rate into med school to ensure future enrollment and to bolster their credibility with med schools, they frequently won't touch the candidates whose backgrounds indicate they are going to be harder to place (even with straight A's in the program).
But the fact that they see you as a harder sell doesn't mean that it can't be done, just that it might take a while. Your best bet is to apply for the less structured programs (eg. HES sometimes will take "chances" on people), and if that doesn't pan out, you can always take science courses on your own and basically create your own postbac. Best of luck.
