My actual GPA is right about a 3.0, but my sci/math is sadly below (yes, I realize that this is my fault 🙁 )....I am taking two more semesters of science classes to try and boost it, but even that will not change it much even if I get all A's, because I just have sooo many credits (I would need like 2 years+ of A's, and I just don't have the money to pay for all of those classes)...I went to UF for undergrad, and my PCAT is a 97 composite..I've also been working in a pharmacy for about a year and a half now....is there ANY hope of me getting into UF for 2010???

I would like to go there because 1.) they are an amazing school, ranked top 10 in the nation-->stellar pharm education 2.) I am very interested in veterinary pharmacy, and UF has a spectacular veterinary school as well, which means that I might be able to intern in the veterinary pharmacy of the vet school hopefully over the summers 3.) they would be cheap for me, I am a FL resident...plus it's UF and I love the campus, weather, people, the whole deal

Does anyone have any input on this?

when i applied, i was 2.99 prepharm gpa (3.45 overall), 92 PCAT and 2.5 yrs experience in retail

StringTheorist was also a UF student; perhaps this is similar stats as yours. Good luck! I must caution though, that it is extremely rare and is of course, an exception to the norm. Simply put, you need to show consistency in your pre-professional coursework. You took care of one in your PCAT, but you need to embellish your application to get in with below subpar gpa. It is super competitive (for the same reasons you stated) but is possible. Look above 👍.

It doesn't hurt to apply. You might want to get your BS/BA if you haven't. Try to maintain a 4.0 in those semi before applying, show them that you grown. It is crazy competitive. Goodluck fellow gator. :xf:

UF is traditionally a PCAT then GPA driven school - however, exceptions have been made (I know two people actually). Like Gator said, these are far from the norm.

Slam dunk the PCAT - have a perfect GPA from this point forward - excellent ECs and LORs - and you may just have a fighting chance.

Nothing ventured - Nothing gained.
