Hey everyone, I guess this would be a better place to ask for answers (I tried predent), since your in the mix already. I have two questions and wanted to get some advice and opinions on it from yall. I have been deciding between two schools Tufts and Nova, first question and most importantly - if I went to Nova, is it possible to take the boards so I can practice in the north east when I graduate? Or do you have to take the boards in Florida and then take them again (or an additional exam) for the NE region? Second, I just wanted to get some opinions on which school (out of the two) yall would choose and why? I know Tufts has reputation, great program, cool college town and Nova has location, new facilities and is a little cheaper (living and tuition wise). They both have positives and are great schools and im thankful to even have a choice between two great places. I know it ultimately comes down to where you would want to spend the next 4 years, but im more concerned with where I would be able to practice afterwards. Lastly, does anyone have a rough idea of how much renting an apartment ranges from for both schools? I know Boston is EXPENSIVE, but im not too sure about Novas area. Thanks!!

You can take any board exam you want, to practice in whatever state you want.(with the exception arguably of Florida, Delaware, and Hawaii😀 )

Hmm, you confused me a little further.. because you said with the exception of florida?? If I went to Nova, couldnt I take the boards for either florida or the North East then?? Or were you saying that someone from lets say from a north east school couldnt take the florida boards....

Think of the smile after the comment as a hint of sarcasm. Yes, any state, some are just more difficult to break into than others.

2 years ago I was asking myself the same question (nova or tufts). I picked nova, I think it was a good choice. Apartments aren't cheap, 1 bedroom 800-1100, 2 bedrooms 1300-1600.

As far as boards go, the Northeast and florida are two different boards (the clinical part at least), but I believe if you don't wish to practice in florida you don't have to take the florida boards, just the region boards where you want to practice. Therefore you would only have to take one of the boards.
