I'm looking for some good study books to prepare for the GRE. I'm taking the general exam, and I'm not too worried since I did well on the SAT many years ago. But which systems are good? Princeton Review, Kaplan, or something like Barrons?

I initially used Kaplan, which wasn't too bad. They had tests in the book and the computer adapted tests on the CD. I borrowed my friend's Barton's book, which was harder material but a better overall prep in my mind. A combination seemed to help. My verbal was really weak, so I bought a book Words for Smart Test Takers (there is a math one if you really need it, but Barton's does a good job with that). That book helped me out a lot. Just work on flashcards, a few each day, and you'll be set.

If you did well on your SAT, then you should be fine on the math. It is the same level, but you cannot use a calculator. I had no problem with that, scoring 730 and 770 each time I took it. My verbal forced me to take it a second time, so make sure you bulk up your vocab.

Good luck!

I think this question was already asked and answered on this forum. you should do a search to find where it is.

Thanks, I searched for "GRE," but it returned no results. I guess it was too short of a query. 😳
