Can you still be interviewed at a school while waiting for new MCAT?

Schools will see my first mcat score, but i'm taking an August MCAT as well. Is it possible that schools will interview regardless and even accept while waiting?

I believe the consensus is that they will wait for the new score before interviewing you. Acceptance prior to your new score is unlikely.

Depending on your first MCAT score, most med schools have no problem interviewing if the rest of your application is strong.

NeuroLAX has more posts.

If you have the stats you should get the interviews. If they feel the original MCAT score is not enough, they will hold your application for your new scores. Maybe Goro can respond with an exact answer. But, if you have a 3.4 26+ you should get some interviews.

Neuro is correct they will wait. Schools are limited in the number of interviews it can do by economics. It would be unwise for a school to use an interview on a person only for the score to come back poor

I have a similar issue as OP. I havent told schools im retaking yet because I am waiting to see if my scire actually goes up. I would hate to tell them and then back down. By the same token, taking and getting aame score would look bad too? Not sure what to do. Want to be in best position for acceptance and my only weakness is mcat.

I think this thread will clarify: http://206.82.221.135/showthread.php?p=12644624

When you submit your aacomas they ask you to verify that everything on the application is true. So you should put you are retaking. Schools will understand. It shows them that you have perseverance and try your best when given the chance. Keep studying you can do it. I am in the same boat. I have an on the border MCAT score, and I want to see if I can do better to really make sure I get into the medical school of my choice.

+1 not reporting a future score could be seen as dishonest. Let them know you are retaking
