Canadian Chances for DO

Hey guys so I'm a Canadian citizen and applied to Canadian schools last year and didn't get in so am planning on applying to US MD/DO schools this cycle to ensure I get in somewhere. My stats are 3.9+ and 515+(this was my 2nd attempt - all scores 128+). I have clinical volunteering, non clinical, leadership, and shadowed an MD. Would I get "yield protected" because of my stats? - I am a Canadian so they might say thats why he's applying DO with these stats. Also would I have a good chance if I applied to the 15 or so DO schools that accept internationals? My interview skills aren't the best (that's why I got rejected from Canadian schools).

Also can anyone link me the Canadian DO thread? I saw previous years but didn't see the 2017-2018 thread.

I don't think you'd definitively be "yield protected" but it would probably behoove you to get a DO LOR if possible. That's true for all DO applicants but especially so in your case; show them your motivation for this field!

Your stats are solid so you shouldn't worry. If the rest of your application looks good then you should be just fine. Some schools aren't as nice dealing with internationals, but just look into each school and see what's going on.
