I was wondering if anyone knew anything about this school. Is this a valid option for a US student? It appears that your options would be very limited in trying to come back and practice in the States. Thanks for any info you guys could provide.

From what I understand, this school is similar to all other OSTEOPATHY schools in the world, excluding the US, which has the only osteopathic MEDICINE schools in the world. Training from the Canadian school will allow you to become an osteopath that practices manipulation (OMM, OMT, etc.), but you will not become a physician. As of right now, only AOA-accredited osteopathic medical schools in the US will allow you to become a physician. Hope that helps!

Cbest is spot on...unless you're a holistic practitioner looking to expand your practice, avoid any osteopathy schools outside the US.

You're right on. Osteopathic medical schools in the US are the only osteopathic schools that allow you to become fully-licensed physicians, with opportunities to practice in any field of medicine or surgery. The AOA is trying to help the rest of the world understand the difference between osteopaths and osteopathic physicians.

Many schools of osteopathy are in place throughout the world. They teach osteopathic manipulation only and do not allow you to become fully-licensed physicians. If you're interested in OMM only and not becoming a physician, then this is one route to consider. However, if you want to become a physician (with a few extra tools in the tool belt), then osteopathic medical school in the US is the only option. Hope this helps to clear it up.
