Hey guys, long time lurker.

So I took my Mcat recently in Jan, and I got a 31 (B12, P10, V9, god damnit verbal...). My GPA so far (I am in my 4th year) is hovering right under 3.5, but will be 3.5-3.6 by the end of the year (my first two years were 3.15 (76%), my 3rd was a big jump to 3.84 (84%), and last semester I had a 3.9 (87%), with higher level science courses my last two years).

Now I know I am out of the running for Canada unfortunately, since I am from Ontario, which is one reason I am looking at the US.

However, I have a strong connection to Michigan. My fam lived there for 12-13 years, I did kindergarten to the end of grade 9 in Troy (Red Hawks, represent!). For whatever reason my family didn't apply for PR/citizenship in that time (my mom, an RN working in Detroit, found the TOEFLs a bit too difficult at the time? I unno).

Additionally, I have a strong desire to move back to the states and practice Family Med/Psych. I am up for MD or DO, either is fine (I actually dig the DO philosophy a bit more, but that's irrelevant to this post). Anyway I am going to be applying for the coming cycle starting this summer. I was wondering if you guys could give me a general idea of my "chances", if you will. I schools I am mainly looking at the the Michigan ones, WesternU over in Cali, Virginia Commonwealth, and some NYC schools (though they generally trend pretty high, so maybe not).

For your MD chances, buy the MSAR. Of the 64 schools that accept international applications, eliminate those that matriculated 2 or less. Then eliminate those that have a median MCAT higher than yours.

A list of DO schools should include:
WesternU-COMP(Pomona), AZCOM, CCOM, Touro-NY(Harlem and Middletown), Nova-Southeastern, Marian, MSU-COM, KCUMB, LMU-DCOM, and UNECOM.
