I saw some Canadian Med Schools as being LCME accredited. Are those any good for a person who doesn't get into a medical school in the US? Would it still be hard to get residency?

Judging by the way Canadians on SDN describe Canadian medical schools they seem to be harder to get into than US Med Schools (perhaps fewer schools and thus fewer spots per capita?). It seems like some Canadians gun for a Canadian school and end up in the US instead. So, I'd venture to say that if you're not competitive enough for a US medical school, you wouldn't be for a Canadian one. Also, not sure Canadian schools even take US residents?
