I am an American citizen and currently a 3rd year student at UofT. I want to back to US after graduation to practice pharmacy or apply for residency fellowship. My question is with this PharmD degree, can I, just like US degree holder, sit for Naplex and law exam directly for the licensing? Or I Am also required to go to FPGEC and TOEFL, and the internship hours? I've looked at policies with a few state boards, it seems that it does not matter whether you are a BS or Pharm D from Canada, they still require 1500 Hours in US to get the license. Is there any other state without this type of requirement?

Hi I'm a British grad and also licensed in Canada. Recently moved from Canada to the US and ye although the PharmD is equivalent to the PharmD in USA, you are still required to do the FPGEC and TOEFL before the NAPLEX. The hours are different from state to state but here in Texas they are required to be fulfilled before being registered as a Pharmacist. Hope that helps.

NAPLEX shouldn't be too different from the PEBCs in Canada so it's doable to study for both at the same time. Requires similar prep.
