I've been looking for a university tankings (that takes into account what I have listed) for about 5 hours now. I can't seem to find a good ranking...

I'm in gr. 11. I'm looking for a complete or as many universities there are for the TOP universities in Canada. I currently live in British Columbia, Canada, and I don't mind going across the country, just as long as I get into a good university that is best for me.

I plan on doing a MAJOR in biology, or atleast 2 years of it (till I get into pharm school) but I don't know which university I should be going to.

What I will be taking into consideration are:

- Easyness of acceptance
- High School Requirements
- Something that has a bachelor in biology
- A university that can help prepare me for PCATs
- A university that can get me a very competative GPA provided I put in the work and effort.
- I would like some free time once in a while, too.
- A university where I can learn the fundamentals for the PCAT and be prepared to Pharmacy school

I'd appreciate it if I can get some of you guys's opinions, advice, etc.

My average right now is AROUND 80%-83%. I plan on doing better in gr. 12, since I am absolutely certain that I can achieve an 86%-90% average. My highest average in school was 89% -- that was in gr. 8, so I know I'm capable.

I understand that 80% is low, but I have motivation now. I am more focused.

Feel free to post any tips or advice for me.

Firstly, the only pharmacy school that requires PCAT in Canada is UBC. Canadian universities are based on the "less quantity but great quality" principle, so things are much different here than in the States. Pretty much all universities across the board will provide you with a quality education.

I attend University of Toronto's pharmacy school, but did not complete my undergrad here. From what I've heard, undergrad at big research schools like U of Toronto or UBC is extremely competitive. However, if you put in the hard work and stay dedicated, there is nothing that will stop you from getting into one of any Canadian pharmacy schools. Shoot me a PM if you have any questions about specific Canadian pharmacy schools (Hell, I applied to almost all of them so I would know something 👍).

Thanks for your reply, zohaibab. What you've said is true. Big Time schools ARE competative. You must of made a lot of sacrifices just to get into UofT. Congrats. You've earned it.

I am actually not looking for a pharmacy school YET... I'm looking for a good school that has what I have outlined in the first post, and something that I can get a bachelors in biology for.

MY AIM AFTER HIGH SCHOOL: Get a Major in biology FIRST (NOT A BACHELORS - I know I put bachelors in the first post, but I got confused). And NOT get into Pharm school...YET.

So right now I am looking for a good school that will get me a good GPA (easy) provided I put in the work. And a school that will prepare me for the PCAT.

The major in biology will help me with the prerequisites for the Pharm School and PCAT. That is what I aim for.

I'll PM you something, zohaibab. Keep your eyes open! 🙂

As far as Canadian Universities go, I don't think there is such a thing as ease of acceptance (well, maybe if you are a resident of the maritime provinces those universities might be easier to get into). I'm a high school senior and I've been doing research on this for a while. Last year's UBC Pharmacy class had an average of 79. something since you are a BC resident that is probably your best bet, UAlberta's last class had an average 3.7GPA which amounts to around 80%. UofT would be extremely competitive. I'm a Manitoba resident and even though University of Manitoba probably has the most straightforward entrance process I've ever read of a pharmacy school (they rank you by taking 70% of your AGPA and 30% of your mark in a 1 hour problem solving/essay test, no interviews, no LOR, no LOI, no volunteer/work experience, no other bs) but the stats of their incoming class are scary. The lowest GPA was a 3.9 and the highest a 4.5 ( they use a 4.5 scale) and if I'm interpreting it correctly that means that the lowest mark of a student getting in was like 78:scared:

If I were you I'd apply at UBC.
