Hello everyone,
The other day, my boyfriend and I toured at the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine with the Admissions Coordinator. Everything went well until she found out that we are American students studying at Dalhousie University in Canada. She told us that although they would accept our overall credit hours, they would not accept any science prerequisites taken in Canada because our university is considered a "foreign institution". She said that many US dental schools would be the same, and that we might as well take a year and redo all of our science prereqs in the US.
I have never heard of this before. How could they accept CC credits and not Canadian credits? I didn't think that any dental school would distinguish between US and Canadian courses. Has anyone heard of such a requirement and if so, can they tell me which other schools might be this way?
Thanks!
