I have a few residency interviews scheduled starting 2/18. I already have a job offer from WAG, where I have been the past few years. After being away from the hospital since November (no hospital rotations as I frontloaded them the first 4 blocks) I do not think I have the will/desire to go through the hell that is residency. What would be the best course of action to take as far as canceling an interview goes?

The sooner you cancel the better. If you are 100% sure that you wouldn't take the residency. It never hurts to go to the interview just to see what the residency entails, then you will know that you have considered every option and can be more confident that you made the right choice. I would just call and say that you need to cancel your interview because you have accepted an offer elsewhere. Be sure to thank them for considering you.

Send a nice email That's honest and forthcoming saying you won't be able to make it.. You definitely don't want to go and you have no intentions of doing it, because you will be taking someone else spot

Definitely cancel as soon as possible because they can then fill your space with another candidate. A phone call or email should suffice.
