Hey guys..

just wondering. in FA it states the "clinical uses' of the various meds. is it important to know those? i figure just knowing SE and mOAS ???

cept possible that cytarbine does AML and busulfan does CML.....any thoughts 😎

t minus dos more days

Know more about SE and mOA. All these drugs can be used almost with anything... but stuff like gleevac for CML is obviously important.

good luck !!!

The step 1 doesnt ask too many questions about cancer drug pharm because the uses overlap a lot. The only thing that could be asked is general stuff like which drug interferes with folate metabolism, answer would be something like methotrexate. It's not important to know that drug X is for cancer a,b, and c because that could be really variable and is probably beyond the scope of step 1.

I would focus exclusively on MOA and side effects. The Step I will NOT expect that you know indications for individual drugs. After hearing Heme/Oncs talk about pharmacological options, I feel that they sometimes don't have a clear answer.

concur!!! SE and MOA...but mostly SE!! I had one question asked 3 different ways about a particular common chemo drug. And I promise I gave about 10 total minutes to cancer drugs! SE...SE....and then more SE...then MOA....then more SE.
