A woman walks in with infected breasts...what do we do? HISTO, what grade is the tumor? YOU HAVE 10 minutes to save her breasts. Dont forget run expression tests to look at the estrogen receptors, prog. receptors, her2/neu proteins

DOES A PATHOLOGIST CONDUCT THE TESTS THEN HAND OFF TO ONCOLOGISTS?

what is the purpose of these threads? "infected breasts" - wtf are you talking about? if you're trying to have serious discussions on these topics, then you're failing miserably. and if you're just trying to be annoying, please stop it.

"10 minutes to save her breasts" - Woot!!!

Damn, if I could get receptor status back in 2 weeks (esp. Her-2/neu) I'm happy.

Seriously, what's the point of this thread?

Pathologists are very important in the evaluation of breast cancer but yes, a patient needs to be "handed off" to an oncologic team. Without the pathologist's expertise, I cannot get approval to go to the OR, to get an MRI, etc. "No meat, no treat" as the saying goes.
