Rant time:

I just called CanHelp to see where in the hell my application is. I ordered an application over 3 weeks ago and have yet to recieve anything from them. So I decided to call today and ask what was going on.

I'm not exaggerating, but the person I talked to had speaking skills that would put a ******ed chimpanzee to shame! This guy (or girl, I couldnt tell) could hardly put three words togeather, and made grunting noises to most of my questions. You would think that a prereq for a job like that would be to communicate clearly to others? Who hires these guys?

Okay, I'm done now....

😡

The way things are going, they probably outsourced for support staff in order to cut costs, so I wouldn't be surprised if you got someone whose native language isn't English and who hasn't been given an opportunity to learn it. And I'm only halfway kidding.

You totally have my sympathy; I think it's rebarbative that there isn't more $$ help available for our Canadian brothers & sisters out there who want to be dentists!! 🙁

When I worked for Citibank, we began to let a few of our good USA employees go in the call centers and hire people in India.

You got it, the call was transfered to India and someone there was going to help you out. Much cheaper to do it that way but not sure if it was the best thing we did for our customer statifaction.

Yeah, I've also heard of the exporting of America controversy. But I doubt this guy I was talking to was in India. The first time I called (3 weeks ago), I talked to a lady with a vintage boston accent. So, unless CanHelp recently exported all of its jobs, their call center is based in Boston.

The EXACT thing happened to me, but after calling a few times I finally got my application. But a word of advice: Do NOT apply more than 3 months before you expect to get your money. If you apply now, your loan will expire in April and you'll have to apply again if you expect to get any money. This happened to me as well, I applied in April, and my loan expired end of June, but I never knew because no one informed me. They kept telling me that everything was OK, but unfortunately, they were reading my info wrong. But after a lot of heck and trouble, they re-instated it, and sent the money over to pitt. They only re-instated it because they knew it was their fault. So, I think it would be best if you give them a call to clear up any questions you may have, and remember to ask for the NAME of whoever you're talking to.

At Pitt, they don't certify loans until you start school which is September, so I plan to apply in July for my second year just to avoid what I went through in my first year.

Cheers,
Hot-n-Aml
