Does anybody know of a PhD program in Cardiology in the US?

I'm a European cardiologist partially trained in the US and since I'm also involved in research, I was thinking about doing my PhD in the US.

If anybody has any ideas, please, share!!

:luck:

From my experience, being an MD is enough to do research in the US. You can apply for a job as a postdoc and then search for your own funding. Why bother spending 5 years doing formal PHD?

I know UCSF has one bc I use to do research there as an undergrad (neurosurgery dept). But like the previous poster said, you probably dont need a PHD to do research......I honestly dont know why people do dual MD/PHD programs (unless if you were a PHD that decided to go to med school).

As the previous poster said an MD is probably equally as well received as an MD/PHD in the research field. You should just probably start some post doc work and kinda move yourself into the field.
