Hi to all
Well iam internationally trainded dentist..but now i wana study medicine also..can somebody tell me what are my chances of getting into med school ??i am 30 yr old 🙂i have a bachelors of dental surgery degree from foreign school..would that help me in any respect??
thankyou

Med school admittance is harder for international students. There are problems with Visas, etc. You must have a Bachelor's degree to apply, as well as all the med school prereqs (1 year each of Chem w/ lab, Bio w/ Lab, Physics w/ lab, O Chem w/ Lab, English, and sometimes math). After you take all these classes, study for, take, and earn a good grade on the MCAT, then you can apply to US med schools.

Thankyou for ur feedback.
As far as visa is concerned i am already a permanent resident of usa.our foreign dentistry degree is eqv to bachelors here in usa.we have already studied all the pre.reqs in our country..so do i have to do it again or they can waive it ??MCAT scores are the most difficult thing cz i heard they look for excellent scores.is it?

In my understanding, they would usually want to see the pre-reqs done in the US unless you are from e.g. Canada, and possibly another short list of countries. Your best bet is to call your state schools and ask them what they would require.

Doing well on the MCAT is certainly important, as is clinical experience (in medicine, e.g. shadowing), non-clinical volunteering, leadership experienc etc.
